Company time and timezone

All roles

Understand why "daily" reports follow the company timezone (not your device), and how to set it correctly.

Presentation

IMPORTANT. Each sale is recorded with a universal time (UTC), a single reference valid worldwide. But to say "TODAY's sales", you must know when the day starts and ends - which depends on a timezone.

The reference used is YOUR COMPANY timezone (where you operate), NOT your phone's. This is intentional: wherever you are (travelling, abroad), "today" stays your company's day. So the figures never change depending on where you view the app from.

Access

The company time is shown at the top of the dashboard ("Business time" banner with date, time and timezone). The timezone is set in Settings > Company (administrator).

Interface

  • "Business time" banner: A live clock showing the date and time in the company timezone, plus the timezone name (e.g. Africa/Douala) and offset (e.g. UTC+01:00).
  • Timezone setting (admin): In Settings > Company: a dropdown lists timezones (e.g. Douala UTC+1, Paris UTC+1/+2...). Set it to the country where the company operates.

Step-by-step procedure

  1. Administrator: open Settings > Company, find "Timezone" and select your country (e.g. Douala (UTC+1) for Cameroon), then save. -> All "daily" reports and the displayed clock now follow this timezone. (Check: Check that the banner at the top of the dashboard shows your country's time.)
  2. Daily use: rely on the "Business time" banner to know which day is current. -> The "daily summary" matches exactly the day shown in the banner.

Examples

Read the company time: The banner shows "06/06/2026 00:42 - Africa/Douala (UTC+01:00)". So the current company day is 06/06.

My phone shows a different time: If your phone is set to a different timezone than your company, its time may differ from the banner. This is NORMAL: only the banner and the reports (= company timezone) are authoritative.

Owner travelling abroad: Your company is in Cameroon and you check the app from China. The figures stay those of the Cameroonian day: no distorted statistics, because the company timezone (not China's) is the reference.

Around midnight (company time), the day rolls over: the daily summary resets to zero. It is the company time that triggers this change, not your device time.

In countries with daylight saving (e.g. Europe), the offset changes twice a year. The app handles it automatically (IANA timezone database); the displayed offset (UTC+xx) updates by itself.

Error messages

The daily summary seems to show the wrong day
Cause: The company timezone is not set to your country (default value, or different country). - Solution: Administrator: Settings > Company > Timezone, pick your country and save. The banner and reports will align immediately.

Tips

  • Set the company timezone ONCE, from the start, to your real country of operation. It is the most important setting for accurate figures. When in doubt, always trust the "Business time" banner, never your phone clock.
